HAIR at MIT

Pamper yourself

Hair at MIT operates a hair salon for the public. On client days our highly trained students are available to pamper you with a professional salon experience that will have you looking and feeling superb. Our students’ work is fully supervised by our industry trained tutors.

HORTICULTURE at MIT

For the garden

 

As part of their studies, our School of Horticulture students are required to propagate and grow a range of plants to saleable grades.

We specialise in growing New Zealand native plants for coastal sites, revegetation projects and wetland sites, and feature specimen trees for attracting birds. The majority are used in co-operation with local south Auckland councils and landowners.

Tied in with student work experience, our Culinary School and MIT team offer function and catering services for both internal and external clients.

We have a range of locations available to meet your conference, training and meeting needs. 

DINE at MIT

Experience fine dining

 

Our staff and students warmly invite you to Dine, our licensed bar and restaurant built specifically for training purposes.

 

Dine is open to members of the public to enjoy a casual bistro-style lunch or an elegant three-course dinner in a casual setting.

FLORISTRY at MIT

Floral arrangements for every occasion

 

Our School of Floristry creates a wide variety of floral arrangements as part of their course requirements.

As a bi-product of their teaching these are available for purchase by the public at different times of the year in

line with the student programmes.

THE PANTRY at MIT

Grab some good eats in Otara

 

The Pantry Cafe,based in North Campus, provides a selection of freshly made salads, sandwiches, soups, smoothies, frozen takeaway meals and more.

The selections are varied depending on season, so there is always something new to try.

BAKERY at MIT

Straight from the oven

 

As part of their studies, our School of Bakery students are required to set up a bakery shop day.

There is a great variety of fresh baked goods available including pies, bread, biscuits, cupcakes and cakes.

ARBORIST at MIT

Tree Care Services

 

As part of their studies, our School of Arboriculture students are required to perform practical 'real world' experience in their chosen field.

 

As a result of this, tree felling and pruning services are available to the wider community.

COFFEE at MIT

Get your coffee fix!

 

On barista training days $1 coffees are available from 9am - 1.30pm at the Espresso Alley coffee cart or The Grind Cafe located in NT Block.
